First post!

I really have no idea how to do this... but I guess I'll learn as I go!

I joined Weight Watchers yesterday for what seems like the 300th time.  In reality, it's probably my 10th time.  My first time was my Freshman year of High School and I lost about 30 pounds.  It was so much easier back then to lose!  That was before they had the Points program.  I joined again my first year of college with my cousin Shannon.  Both of us did great... she lost around 50 and I lost around 30.  Then I got into a plateau, got frustrated and depressed and quit.  I've joined multiple times since then but never lost more than 10 pounds before hitting a plateau.  Then I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and insulin resistance which explained my difficulty in losing weight.  After starting on a medication called Metformin/Glucophage, the weight has seemed to drop off a lot easier in the last two years.  I figured it was time to join WW again now that I know there was a valid medical reason that I wasn't losing weight and it's been somewhat corrected.  PCOS and IR is a never-ending journey, especially for those of us in our child-bearing years!

I have lost about 15-20 pounds in the last year and a half without really trying.  The medication has helped curb my appetite and reduce my sugar cravings.  I joined WW to get more structure to my eating and to become more mindful of my intake and my activity.  My first day of tracking my points was pretty easy.  WW's eTools makes it so easy... just scan the barcode to the food you're eating and it automatically tracks it for you!  I'm a technology nerd so I love this feature.

I'm looking forward to my first weigh-in next Friday to see how I did.
